Lovin' the work
For the past 9 months or so, I've been working two jobs. One for the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and the other for Techbridge, a program of the Chabot Space and Science Center. In a lot of ways its been the best of my interdisciplinary, mestiza world. I get to do technical, educational and activist work in a given week. It is also overwhelming. Each job and my life outside of work requires so much time, energy and thought I sometimes feel scattered.
To create some life balance I decided to leave Techbridge and go full time at the Institute. I must say it has given me peace of mind, but I am also even more overwhelmed with all of the work I have to do in the next three weeks to end this transition. Lots to deliver and very little time. It seems everyone I know is in this same type of boat. Why don't we all abandon ship and go find a nice island to relax on?
